Flash Headers

I’m sure this a popular question and I’ve seen various forum and blog posts about it, but it seems like they’re all three years old at least.

I have created a flash header that I would like to include as the default header for pages that don’t otherwise specify an image to use. I’m using the 2011 theme.

I’m a programmer but not a web programmer, so while I can stumble around in PHP I do not have a thorough understanding of it. The flash element is not complex and is just a conversion of a video my boss would like to use.

Condescendingly specific answers like “replace X in Y with Z” would be fantastic. More general answers regarding PHP and WordPress are also welcome.
