• I had some serious issues when first trying to set up the firewall – when it wrote to my htaccess file I was left with just the Wordfence code and lost all the WordPress rewrite stuff. Links don’t work well when the rewrite stuff is turned off! I have since resolved that issue (started over with the basic WordPress htaccess file and let Wordfence have another shot at it – which worked) but am now getting a LOT of warnings since enabling the Firewall.

PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library ‘/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20131226/oauth.so’ – /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20131226/oauth.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0

Any idea what could be doing this?

  • Hi,
The plugin never removes code from “.htaccess” file, only adding the necessary firewall code wrapped between “# Wordfence WAF” and “# END Wordfence WAF” lines and during the process of firewall configuration you will be asked to download this file as a backup before this code is added, just in case something happened you can re-upload the backup file.

Regarding these PHP warnings, I suggest reporting them to your hosting provider, they should be able to investigate this issue in details as it seems to be related to the server configuration.

    Thanks.
