Hiya,
I’m sorry to say we have nobody to fire, as we’re an open source community project powered by volunteers.
With that out of the way, would you mind sharing some details on why you feel the new editing experience destroys the publishing platform for so many users?
The CEO can’t fire himself…and I don’t think there is a ‘board’ to answer to. Not sure on that. However, it does appear there are a few ‘elite’ in the upper echelons who decide what is a good idea and what isn’t and then ‘encourage’ the community to follow suit. It’s how businesses are run.

It’s only going to get worse. This is just Phase 1.

I can assure you, getting “worse” is not the game plan, that would be ridiculous.
It will get better by way of refinements, fixes, enhancements, etc. Just as WordPress has always done.
WordPress is built entirely by volunteers, there is no CEO or board of directors, and you are welcome to get involved too: https://make.wordpress.org/
The Classic Editor plug-in exists for anyone who wants to use the classic editor.
