• Quite frankly, I am confused. How does anyone find any other blog at org?
    What are categories used for?
I get the sense that there is no community here except answering problems on the forums which appears to be pretty good.
    Confused

  • Yes, that’s all the forums are for. This is not a blog directory, and there are no blogs hosted at wordpress.org.

    Thanks for your reply.
Then my question is where are all the
visitors I received in the last 3 hours
    coming from?

Check your server logs and, if you have them, stats plugins/google analytics/statcounter.

Sorry, I was away from this subject for a time.
So basically, they are coming from the search engines and not from within the WordPress community. The reason I am asking is because I have had the site on the web and received only 2 or 3 visitors a day (it is a very new site) and then I come to WordPress and I receive suddenly 65 visits. My question is, how am I being found? Or are all of these basically administrative visits to see what my site is about and after this, I will again be down to 2 or 3 visits a day.

Most likely, though they might also be coming from technorati, which WP pings whenever you post something new.

But seriously, install a stats plugin or something if you want to know where they’re coming from. Google Analytics is my recommendation.

O.K. Thanks for the input. I hope to be
of help myself once I get grounded.
