    2 part question:

    1. Can a filter be searched with the built in search function? I want the filter to be hidden, but act as sort of a tag that can be searched in addition to the image name.

    2. Also, I added a test portfolio without adding filter just to see how it would work with my site. Then I added a couple of filters and they just showed up where the dropdown menu should be. So then I added a new portfolio with new images thinking it would add the dropdown menu for the filters, but it didn’t. Just did the same thing in adding the existing filters to all images. No dropdown, and no way to remove filters. And none of those filters are searchable on a page. Do I need to delete the plugin and reinstall it to get the filter dropdowns to work? And would they then be searchable, to answer the first question?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @dsb0328,

    Thank you for contacting us.

We don’t get what you wanna say.

which filter drop-down are you talking about for frontend or backend?

Can you please describe it with some screenshots?

    Thanks

I’m not sure how to add screenshots to my post here, but maybe I can describe it with a link to your site. https://awplife.com/docs/wp-documentation/portfolio-filter-gallery-premium/ Just before Step 5, you can see an image that shows using a dropdown menu to apply filters to each image. I don’t have that option. It just applies all filters I enter in the categories section to all images. However, now looking at your site, it says I can only have 5 filters with the free version, which will not help me.

So, that said, and shifting gears a little bit, is there a way to add tags or descriptions to each photo that can be searched? Or does the search function only search the name of associated with the photo? I only have these options: Image/Video, Image Title, Video URL/Link URL, Filters (which sets all category filters to every photo, no option to choose which category filter.) I also don’t have a Description area as shown on your page linked above.

Hopefully this helps clarify my initial request.

    – The search option works only on the image title and description only.

Let us know first Are you a Free User or Premium plugin user?

In the Free version, there is a limitation to add Filters.

In Pro, you can make unlimited filters (it depends on your server configurations). The doc link you shared is a premium one also.

If you are a Premium user, then please directly contact on our site.

    Thanks

If I am using the free version, which I am at the moment, should I still have the Description option for each image? If so, I don’t, and not sure why. If it is an included feature, I should be able to enter words there that can be searched, according to your previous statement, correct?

    Hi @dsb0328,

No description feature is only available in the pro version.

    Thanks

Thank you for all of your replies. I just did a test on your How To Test Premium Plugin page ( https://awplife.com/demo/portfolio-filter-gallery-premium-admin-demo/how-to-test-premium-plugin/ ) and noticed that you can not search for words entered in the description area. Is this a glitch or is it really not possible to search Descriptions?

Not sure if this plugin will work for my needs as I just want to have an overlaying title, and some tags or descriptions, that can all be searchable. I would gladly purchase your product if you can tell me if this is possible.

    Hi @dsb0328,

You can search for words if you are showing then in the title or in the description.

You can check it with this demo page – https://awplife.com/demo/portfolio-filter-gallery-premium/

Go to this page and search “bottle”.

    Thanks
