File permissions …. help!
-
I am kinda clueless on this one. Just got a new host and domain (www.theawesomeblog.com), everything is working OK except when I need to install a plugin or basically do anything that requires a new folder or file to be created, like changing my banner. It won’t create the new folder when I upload it. When installing a plugin, WordPress has to use it’s own FTP manager with my admin user/pass, which doesn’t seem to work very well in the first place so I have to manually install my plugins. This server is feature rich but I’m just not sure where to go in my cPanel to fix this. I’m using hostingauthority.com, if it helps, got my hosting service. I’m using my main account for the database login that WP uses. Obviously it’d be stupid to set public write access on my folders lol. I’ve got group and owner set to full access, read write and execute. Public access is set to read and execute. I’m stuck. I’m worried that this will prevent posts from being created once I get my autoblog software pulling stuff off the feeds. I’m SURE this is an easy problem, I’m just not that advanced with this stuff. 🙂
