File Gallery – user templates – clean options bug?

    Hello Aesqe,
    just experimenting with templates in theme’s folder (1.6.5.1-beta)
    I am not sure, but it seems that FG “list of templates” is “cumulative”:
    – templates in “theme_xxx/file-gallery-templates” are added to FG combo box menu OK – it makes sense.

    But, when this subfolder is deleted (even in the case that “templates” folder in FG plugin is deleted) the list is without any change – all the templates are still enlisted. (Clean cache button clicked).

    The situation is the same both after “deactivating/activating of FG” and “deactivating/deleting/activating of FG” (checkbox for deleting options on deactivating FH checked)

    I am a bit confused – the other options are cleaned OK. Am I something missing? Probably yes 🙂

    That’s really, really weird – and also quite impossible 😐

    Unless you have File Gallery caching turned on, file gallery templates folder and file-gallery-templates subfolder within your theme’s folder are continuously rechecked for templates – nothing gets saved/cached anywhere…

    I tried to replicate the bug, but with no luck. I turned file gallery caching on and deleted the file gallery templates subfolder within the theme folder and, as expected, the deleted template names were still on the list. But after I’d clear or disable the cache, templates would be rescanned for and the missing ones would be removed from the list…

    The default template names (default, file-gallery, list and simple) will always be present on the list even if you delete the templates subfolder from the plugin folder.

    Can you test this on another WordPress installation to confirm?

    Hello Aesqe,
    I REALLY apologize for your wasted time, it was my stupid mistake –
    FILE GALLERY IS OK.

    1) The THEME FOLDER TEMPLATE list was cached, indeed: but by W3TotalCache… Still not sure why the WPTotalCache plugin was so aggressive (I was logged admin), but that is another story.

    2) FG DEFAULT LIST: of course, it really makes sense NOT TO DELETE these default templates. But your superb plugin is so flexible, that a temptation of users to move the templates into themes’s folder is really real (to customize CSS colors etc). For problematic users (like me, yes) would be maybe helpful to do some test if the FG default set of templates is really present in FG templates folder(?).
