Feedback on blog layout

Brand new to blogging, so I am wondering if I have the layout done properly. It is laid out more like a website (which is what I am used to in another program). But I realize most blogs have several blog articles on their page whereas I have it laid out differently. Will this detract from visitors experience on the site? Personally I hate all the white space on a lot of blogs that have several articles but nothing on the right after the first one or two blogs. But would like advice about the layout before I go too much further. Please note that I do not know code, nor do I plan to learn it, so I am sticking to a pretty standard format.
