• Hi all,

The infamous “XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity” error is rearing its ugly head when I’m trying to read my feed at jeugdsentimenten.net/feed/a Dutch site with “a trip down memory lane” as it’s main theme

So far I’ve checked every plugin on extra lines after the final ?> statement. Also, I’ve tried disabling all plugins. Nothing helps.

It really got “funny” when I discovered Safari is displaying the feed just fine. Firefox chokes, so do IE and Google Reader. So most likely there is something wrong with it. But how can it be Safari has no problems displaying the feed?

Any ideas or directions to possible solutions?

    Thanks!
    Edde

OK. Feeds (posts and comments) seem to work fine in Google Reader.

    Now I’m really lost. Anyone?

its the same “blank line” thats visible if you look at the source of your blog’s front page.

There’s a space, or a line break in one of the files inside your blog root, where wp-config.php is.

    wp-settings.php, wp-blog-header, etc..

find the space, remove it, and you’ll be fine.

it could also be a plugin file.. you can troubleshoot that by just deactivating plugins… I really wouldnt waste time looking at them anymore than you have.

Dude, you’re a life saver! It was in my wp-config.php (duh!)
Below the line where it says: “That’s all, stop editing!”
Dunno how it got there, but the problem is solved.

    Thanks!
