Hi,
First I’d like to say that I really enjoy this plugin. I was looking for something like this for so long. I have some recommendations:
- Make the name of the author in a comment clickable to the author’s page.
- Provide an option for commenters to subscribe to the topic they are commenting on.
- Let commenters edit their comment for a given period of time. I was using the Simple Comment Editing plugin for this, but this plugin doesnt work with wpdiscuz
Any possibilities that these features can be added? Thanks again for this great plugin!

All are default WordPress emails, it’s hard to say who forces the default email to be sent. The fix has been made and tested, we see only get one email on our tested websites, so we think there is some specific issue on your end. And yes, we think everything is possible and maybe we’ve missed some other aspects so we’re going to check it again for sure.

Hm strange; is the sent email from WP (default) or the wpdiscuz plugin? I would be really helped if there was an option to automatically don’t send any subscription emails, by wpdiscuz, to the author. Since the author is automatically subscribed to his/her topic.

I think the problem in this, it seems not on all WPs author is automatically subscribed. Checking this as well…

You can set this in settings > comments in WPADMIN. At least, i did 🙂

Hello WPDISCUZ or Gvector

I’m a power user of internet, I have my own website which is under construction. From years ago I was searching for a good wordpress commenting plugin. I tried many of them but none of them was good enough. I spent time on different sites to know how their commenting system works. I reviewed every details. and at last I figured that I want my commenting system to be like what.

Today I found your plugin in my searches. Unfortunately I didn’t find any demo of it, so I am not sure the features I want are included or not. I just saw the pictures.

This is my features requests after I worked the plugin for hours:

A- The most important thing that users be able to edit comments like plugin below

C- Use toggle switches instead of checkboxes

D- Users be able to upload photos (not html code, user friendly)

E- Support RTL, it doesn’t support RTL now

G- Make it SEO optimized. make the comments indexed in google search. like this one

H- You can convert captcha to something modern and better, the second link is the new google captcha technology

L- Don’t show only the differences between + and – rating results, show both of them. and you can provide a sorting type based on most positive comment or from the better to worse (differences in + and – ratings)

M- Can sort comments in different ways by users (newest to oldest – most popular – thread)

Hi repenter,
I just read your emails with John and would like to thank you for this list of features. To tell the true this is a 20% part of our ToDo list we’ve planned and currently working on that. So those features (not 100%) will be added in wpDiscuz in near future, some of those may be available in this month. We got many plugins and we don’t only work on wpDiscuz. We need update all those and then get back to wpDiscuz again.

i would like to disable the output of pingbacks within in the comments. How can i do that to make it work after an update of WPdiscuz?

Just don’t approve those. wpDiscuz doesn’t show unapproved comments.

hey, thanks for your quick answer.

but i guess that isn´t a solution to me, since i would like to display the pingbacks underneath the comments.
I have already implemented the following code, which only displays pingbacks:
<?php wp_list_comments(‘type=pings&callback=custom_pings’); ?>

If I disapprove pingbacks, as you say, i guess they won´t be displayed at all, right?
Isn´t there a way to edit wpDiscuz code to only display real comments?
If so, where could in which file / line can i change that?

Hey,
i have another problem. Comments, i have already posted as admin, are not display as “admin” – but “guest”.
I switched from disqus – is there any way to solve that?

Hi meevilkneevil,
It seems your comments had not been added in database correctly. And your comment userIDs doesn’t exists. You can add a comment and see that it works fine with wpDiscuz. wpDiscuz can’t understand old comment users if those IDs are not correct don’t exists so all those will be tracked as guest. This is a seriousе issue in database, we can’t help without access to WordPress database tables. If you want us to check and try to find solution please send database managing access (phpMyAdmin username/password) to support[at]gvectors.com.

wpDiscuz doesn’t have such a feature yet. It doesn’t sort all ping/track backs and add underneath the comments. It shows all with date/time order.

After 3 months I requested some features, you really did a great job and provide most of them, really appreciate your hard word wpdiscuz team.

Just a few questions:

1- Can you add google recaptcha?
2- Can users follow comments of a post without commenting on that?
3- Can users upload images?
4- Can users see the names of users who rate their comments? (same as facebook)
