Featured images not displaying?

I just installed Portfolio and have the “Customize” settings set to display featured images on posts. I thought that they would show on the page that displays all posts, regardless of what the post type is, did I misunderstand?

I have one page set to display image and gallery posts in a grid, and that works fine, but I also have a page set to show all posts (“Updates”), and on those posts the featured images don’t show. This is the page for all posts; there are four “gallery” type posts and one standard, all with a featured image attached. The featured images don’t show on the individual posts either.

I do not have the options framework installed because when I installed it, it showed a message saying the options were now under “Customize” and the options framework was no longer needed.

Edit: I am using a child theme, but the only thing I’ve done so far is change the background color just to make sure it was working.
