I don’t think displaying the Featured Image is a feature of the Twenty Ten theme. I’m thinking you would have to create a child theme and then edit the loop.php file to add the get_the_post_thumbnail function? If having a featured image on your post excerpts is that important, I would consider switching to another theme, instead.
I have a similar question. I have uploaded my own picture for the header, yet this seems to interfere with other plugins that use a ‘featured image’ on individual pages.

Nyklickova, I would say it’s the other way around: the plugin is interfering with the theme’s header image. You should probably post on the plugin’s support page. Hopefully someone there can help you. If not, you might want to try using a different featured image plugin.
I’ve tried two plugins now, and their support, to no avail so I thought I’d give this a try.
