Hi MontyPL. When you say “shown in… excerpt” I assume you mean on the home page. So, for this one category, you don’t want to show the Featured Image on the home page? And, on the single post view, for just that category, you don’t want to show the Featured Image?

I want every post on the home page to has a Featured Image. Like it works now.

On the single post view I want to show the Featured Image for every post BUT one category. Right now it works for every post, so I must exclude one category somehow.
If your posts are assigned to only one category the easiest solution is to set those posts in your “exclude” category to post format “Standard”. That will suppress the Featured Image on the single post view. If your posts are assigned to multiple categories you’ll need to edit post-formats.php for the “audio” and “image” post formats which include the post thumbnail.
