    The css associated with sizing the featured images is as follows:

    .panel-image {
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-size: cover;
    }

    To get the featured image to fit the entire width of the browser window, add this to the custom css (or to twentyseventeen child):

    .panel-image {
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-size: contain;
    }

    To get the image to fit the window and repeat:

    .panel-image {
    background-repeat: repeat;
    background-size: contain;
    }
