Featured image not showing

I wrote up a post tonight/this morning that I just published, but no matter what I do I can’t get a featured image to show. I’ve been able to do this on previous posts, but I don’t know why it won’t work on tonight’s post.

I’ve tried resizing the picture thinking maybe the system didn’t like it because it was too big. That didn’t fix it.

I had it named in the media tab with the same name as the featured image from the last post. I tried renaming it thinking that was causing a conflict.

I even dumped the original post and started a completely new one and that still didn’t fix it.

I’m at a loss for how to fix this problem. The picture shows up on the right side on the featured image box, and it even saves as the thumbnail in the list of posts, but when you bring up the post it just brings up a blank space or a missing image icon.

I’ve since removed the featured image from the published post, but I need help figuring out why it it doesn’t work and yet it works in previous posts?
