Featured Image Not Displaying Even In Editor

    Hi, I’ve recently changed my website to be more of a blog / journal, and I’m looking to build a subscriber list for this. I would love to do this through MailPoet. Everything looks pretty great except one problem – my featured image for posts is not showing up. I don’t mean only that it is not showing up in emails, but rather that it is not showing up anywhere in MailPoet. For example, when am editing the design of the automated post email in the MailPoet section within wordpress, even there, where the featured image should be, there is only blank white space.

    The odd thing is that if I change the email to show the full post, it will display images. But for some reason it is not reading the featured image properly. I have confirmed there is indeed a featured image attached, but it simply isn’t working. I don’t have many plugins, but deactivating plugins doesn’t seem to change anything, and regardless the featured image is not showing up in emails either.

    As I am doing a photography blog, having at least the featured image display is very important to me. So if I cannot figure out the solution to this, I cannot use MailPoet, as much as I would like to! If you can’t help me out with this I would appreciate it!

    I have just tested this on my test site and I am able to include the featured image when I insert a post.

    The odd thing is that if I change the email to show the full post, it will display images.

    However, if I select the option Title only the featured image is not available. Is that the option that you are using too? That would explain the issue. If you don’t want to include the full text of the post you could choose to show the Excerpt, as that will also allow you to include the feature image.

    Can you see that in the Post Selection options when you select Excerpt or Full post?

    Hello Dani,

    Thank you for your quick reply! I was actually going to update this soon anyway to say it seems to have been resolved. Whenever I sent test emails or looked at things in the editor before, images weren’t showing up. But I created a new post to test what would happen and the image went through just fine. The previous post was over a year old (which is what MailPoet was using to give a preview), so perhaps that was why the featured image wasn’t working like it did on the new post. I’m not sure, but at any rate it seems to be resolved for now so I am happy about that. Thank you for your help!
