Featured image doesn’t work

    Good evening.
    My WordPress theme already has a News post type, but it has a different version of featured images like this. But when adding a new entry, this image is not displayed when the news is displayed. The line “add_theme_support (‘post-thumbnails’);” is written in the functions.php file. I also checked news -> Add News Item and there is no “featured image” field there. But on the page for editing reviews or pages, this field is. How can I add featured image to this page or change the output of news from reviews or simple posts / pages?

    Can you please temporary switch to WordPress any default theme and check.

    Hello!
    Thanks for answer!
    I solved this problem – a plugin was plugged into the wordpress theme that hides
    required fields for featured images. Disconnected it and now everything works!
