    Not a bad idea, but since people can easily just paste in whatever they want from whatever source they choose to achieve the same thing I don’t expect this’ll be tackled anytime soon.

    Well I think automation is key.
    Based on https://github.com/mitchellkrogza/nginx-ultimate-bad-bot-blocker/tree/master/robots.txt
    there could be a cron job to check weekly for a new version. If automated, for example like the plugin updates if makes the site more secure, user friendly. Your plugin is for the administrators of the WP sites.
    See the updaterobots.sh file, which does a wget of the file
    It should only replace the badbots section so the other section is stable.
    Once the file is updated you send an email to the administrator.
    This will make your plugin separate you from the rest.
    I do the check and copy and paste now monthly.
    It is just a feature request. I like your plugin that is why I am using it.
