    I’ll have to see how that plugin processes the images, but I suspect it could be.

    After playing more with EWWW Image Optimizer I believe I noticed a statement that images in Media Library get automatically optimized. If they get optimized immediately upon adding, that might resolve the issue, as Events Manager adds images there.

    Yes, if Events Manager stores all it’s images in the Media Library, they are auto-optimized.
