    Hello,

this is not an issue at all and not a big problem but it would be nice to have for the user experience:

When I get my 2FA code per E-Mail I always just double click it to select it and then copy it. On my system ( Windows 11 using Thunderbird Mail ) the space behind the code is always selected too. Now when I paste it into the code field from WP 2FA the space is not being automatically stripped and I need to remove it manually. It would be very nice to have some kind of validation that strips every character that is not a number.

This would make the user experience with WP 2FA just a little better. Other than that I love it, great plugin, Thank you!

We never noticed that but it is a very good improvement suggestrion @benniledl

Indeed, by stripping that extra space from the email it makes life much easier. We will include a fix for this in the next update.

Hi, I’ve seen you have updated the plugin but the new feature is not included, I did notice that there is a validation in place that invalid characters like an extra space cannot be submitted but I it would be awesome to implement a change that when I copy and paste the code with an extra space at the end that it just strips it automatically.

    Hello @benniledl

We’ve done some testing and it turns out that this problem is actually a Windows “problem” – if you use Android, Linux or any other operating system, only the code is copied. For some reason Windows is also highlighting the empty space behind the code.

So as such there is not much we can do from our end apart from filtering it when the user is trying to input the code, which we are doing now.

Thanks for your feedback and for using our plugin. Should you have any other feedback please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Hi, I know that this is a Windows problem but you could automatically strip the space when it is pasted into the form so that windows users can just copy paste and enter and don’t have to manually strip the space.

    Hello @benniledl

That is exactly what we have done in the latest update that we have released today; if you try to paste a code with a space, the form will automatically remove the extra space and accept the code.

    Have you tried it?

Hi, thanks for writing back. Yes I tried it, I thought I had the newest version because the update wasn’t showing in the plugins overview, I have manually installed it and now it works thank you!

I think the multisite setup somehow has hidden the plugin’s update idk but that’s a osi layer 8 (me) problem 😀

Thank you for adding this feature, your plugin really deserves a 5 star rating.
