• When I try to upload an image to my gallery I get a fatal error…however the message disappears so quickly I can not detail the entire error message here:

    It starts with:

Fatal error: called to undefined function wcp7_addtag_generator()… and then ends with, on line 152

It was working a few days ago on an older version of WP. Then i did a backup and updated WP. I have tried uploading on both my PC at work (running XP SP3) and well has my brand new IMAC at home. I have tried using Internet Explorer and FireFox and nothing is working.

  • Can you post your site URL?

@krishna you don’t need to ask for the site URL for everyone who posts.

If you are getting a fatal error, disable all plugins and switch to the twentyten theme and see if the fatal error continues.

Undefined functions, especially with a prefix of wcp7_ are usually functions that are associated from within a theme or plugin, not part of the WordPress core.

So you’re best bet is to disable all plugins, switch to one of the base themes twenty(ten/eleven) and try doing the upload again.

If it uploads just fine, enable things one at time until you find the one causing it. Also look for plugins that WCP7 could be an acroynym for (or even the theme) that is a huge clue to which one it is.

    @frumph,
You are right. But in many cases, a URL helps in determining the cause more precisely. Otherwise, what interest do I have in their URLs?

Is that what you need @krishna?

This is all new to me…I will try to get the last bit of the error message.

Is “deactivate” the same as “disble”? I am using Church WordPress Theme.

Here is the rest of the fatal error message:
Fatal error: called to undefined function wcp7_addtag_generator()home/gvcreno/public_html/wp-content/contactform7/modules/text.php on line 152

@frumph…based on what you said previously, I guess the problem is coming from my plug-in ContactForm7. Should I “deactivate” it? Then try to uploard my images? Then re-activate it? And would I have to do this every time I have to upload new images????

ALSO, Looking at my Plug-in dashboard, I also have this message at the top:
Akismet is almost ready. You must enter your Akismet API key for it to work. I do not have a key…not sure what this means?

    Thanks for the help 🙂
