    Hi,
Have you purchased the plugin from the CodeCanyon store? If so, you have to upgrade from there. The plugin hosted on wordpress.org is another plugin.

    Please, let me know.

    Hello Aldo!!
Thanks 4 th quick reply. Yes i bought it from there and also dowloaded the upgrade from there. :-S

Any idea why is this error coming up?
    Thanks!!

This occurred because CodeCanyon doesn’t redirect the upgrading requests correctly. If a plugin comes from CodeCanyon, the upgrade must be done via CodeCanyon’s servers; if the plugin comes from wordpress.org repository, the upgrade should be done from there.

Beyond this, the two plugins (mine and the plugin of CodeCanyon) share the same name (private-content), that is something to be avoided.

In your case, I would download from CodeCanyon the version you were using before the upgrade process and I would restore the files in private-content folder, and I would check if all is working fine. Then I would download the new version (always from CodeCanyon) and I would attempt a manual upgrade.

    Let me know.

Hi again and thanks a lot!
Actually this is what i already did, the old version form CodeCanyon works fine , but when i upload the new one (from Codecanyon too) it doesn´t work. The thing is that i need to upgrade the pluging cos i need the Mail add on latest version to work, otherwise the add on won´t work…

Ok, but you should ask the developer. I do not know that plugin at all.

Anyway, you could try deactivating all plugins except Private Content, then upgrade to the new version. If the upgrade goes fine and the plugin works, then there is an incompatibility between the new version and some other plugin. Reactivating the other plugins ony by one should help you in finding the incompatible plugin.

you´re right, thanks a mill for your help. Ill try deactivating other plugins, just didn´t realize compatibility could be the issue…
Meanwhile i´ll wait for the developer to reply.

    Thanks!!
    😉
