• I just finished updating a website; I built it on WordPress in Godaddy’s previewdns mode. I pushed it live and the site looks great. Unfortunately, I now can’t access the WordPress admin panel. Whenever I log in I get the following message:

“Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_taxonomies_for_attachments() in D:\hosting\10169172\html\wp-admin\menu.php on line 67”

And after logging in, I can see the WP menu bar up top, but if I click on anything in the drop-down menus I get the same error. I can’t access my profile, I can’t update plug-ins or themes.

I have the following plug-ins installed:

    akismet
    jetpack
    woodojo
    statpress
    audio-player
    contactme
    multicons
    quick-sms

I don’t know if any of them may be causing the problem. I called Godaddy.com and they said it looked like a WP problem.

    Help!

  • If you have FTP access, I would go in, delete the entire wp-admin folder and re-upload a fresh copy.

If that doesn’t work, try re-uploading the wp-includes and the root files, just don’t touch the wp-config.php or wp-content folder.

I have a blog http://www.buildingkira.com and recently upgraded WordPress. I then got exactly the same message as celestegreen.
I am not very computer-savvy but managed to go to FTP and deleted the entire wp-admin folder, as you suggested. Tried to reload a fresh copy (very time-consuming as had to do it file by file – there must be a quicker way which I don’t know about, tried all the multiple selection options I could think of but nothing worked). When I went back to the blog and tried to go to Dashboard I get a white screen which says index of /blog/wp-admin but just has lots of boxes with question marks in them (one says parent directory). I also deleted the plugin Akismet as read on another topic that this can affect access after an upgrade
All my diary entries are there and I keep getting email notifications of comments left (mostly advertising rubbish since I deleted Akismet) but I just cannot add entries or approve etc comments.
How can I upload the wp-admin file all in one go?
What else can I do to sort this?
    Please help!!

See how computer-savvy I am? I made the whole comment a link!
