When I try to activate this plug-in, this message pops up:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Same error for me. I dont use any other plugins and my host has PHP5.

I have also tried the suggestion in this thread: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-pagenavi-fatal-error-1?replies=7#post-2034277
