• I just logged in to my wp-admin and clicked on “upgrade” wordpress 3.4. Now when I attempt to log on to my dashboard from (website name)/wp-admin. It reads the following error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_is_mobile() in /home/content/30/9012430/html/wp-admin/index.php on line 22

I don’t know what else to do. I cleared my cookies and reset my computer thinking that will help. But now I have no access to my dashboard.

Also, my website is reading an error message as well:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_User::exists() in /home/content/30/9012430/html/wp-includes/comment-template.php on line 1522

    PLEASE HELP!

  • Try a manual upgrade. Download a fresh copy of WordPress from here and upload everything except the wp-content folder.

I don’t know how that would change anything. But I went ahead and I download wordpress 3.4 and unzipped the file. Now I am looking at a bunch of folders.

The problem is when I go to my website followed by wp-admin, I am then directed to “wordpress” log in page. Once I enter my user name and password I get the following message: Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_is_mobile() in /home/content/30/9012430/html/wp-admin/index.php on line 22

There is no way around it. I even tried logging in using Internet Explorer and nothing, same message.

This happened to me this morning when I tried to upgrade wordpress 3.4 on my dashboard. Now I can’t get back in to my account.

This tells you how to do a manual upgrade.

I am not worried about upgrading at this point. I just want to be able to access my dashboard, which I am unable to do so at the moment. If I was to give the support team my log in and password can you fix the problem for me. I am freaking out…

I just logged in to my wp-admin and clicked on “upgrade” wordpress 3.4.

The upgrade process broke your installation of wp. The only way to fix it is to do a successful manual upgrade.

How did you log in? I log in my typing naturedeeds.com/wp-admin. When I do it that way the option of upgrading my account is not offered to me.

This is a quote of what you said.

I just logged in to my wp-admin and clicked on “upgrade” wordpress 3.4.

I did not, can’t and don’t want to log into your site.

I just want to be able to access my dashboard, which I am unable to do so at the moment.

What I meant to say, early today I was on my dashboard playing around with themes. On the top a box popped up, which said upgrade to WordPress 3.4. I clicked on the little blue button “upgrade”. And from there that is when everything happened. I am not even on my home computer, so I don’t see how I can download all these files and just have them sitting on the desktop with nowhere to go because at this point I am not able to get pass the log in page on wp-admin.

We know you tried to do an automatic upgrade. We’re telling you that it failed somehow and to get your site back, you’ll have to do a manual upgrade.

You need to upload those files onto your web server using FTP. Nothing is going to happen if you just leave them sitting on your desktop. You do not need to get pass the login page on wp-admin to perform the manual upgrade.

Please follow the instructions on the page kmessinger has linked to.
