• Hello – having some trouble with a friend’s website – http://www.carlhartley.co.uk

It’s now returning a HTTP Error 500 message on all webpages, including the dedicated login/admin/dashboard pages.

Previously it was returning fatal error messages:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function _deprecated_file() in /home/carlhart/public_html/wp-includes/locale.php on line 10

Warning: require_once(/home/carlhart/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-session-tokens.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/carlhart/public_html/wp-includes/session.php on line 10

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home/carlhart/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-session-tokens.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php56/root/usr/share/pear’) in /home/carlhart/public_html/wp-includes/session.php on line 10

Site is run online through wordpress & hosted by ehostUK.

    Any help desperately welcomed!

    Thanks,

    Ollie

  • Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the root wp-config.php & .htaccess files and the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress 4.7.1. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folders before uploading the new ones.

Then upgrade to WordPress 4.7.3 as soon as you have access to the site again.

Hi – as mentioned, he was running the site through online only, using a free theme & never had to download WordPress files. Even if we could download & replace, also as mentioned – we can’t access his dashboard page

He should be able to access his website using some FTP program. That way he can upload files, rename files/folders or pretty much anything else.

    Hi all

Still having trouble with this issue – can’t access site via FTP – keeps telling me it can’t connect to the server. Am using the domain with ftp:// prefix, and his /wp-admin login.

Is this right? If so, any ideas why it may not be working?

If not, what is the right credentials I’ll need?

    Thanks!
