Fatal error in single-event.php; events don't load

I discovered our event pages suddenly aren’t loading properly. The pages are just blank on our production server, but on our staging server, I get the following error message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function get_location() on a non-object in /nas/wp/www/staging/niac/wp-content/themes/politicize/single-event.php on line 54
The function on line 54 of that php file is this:
<?php if($EM_Event->get_location()->location_latitude <> 0 AND $EM_Event->get_location()->location_longitude <> 0){ ?>
Any ideas on how to fix the above? Everything had worked before but now it doesn’t. FYI, I turned off all other plugins besides the “Events Manager” plugin, but that didn’t help.

sorry but can I know how did you initialize $EM_Event in your themes/politicize/single-event.php ?

The creators of the Politicize theme helped me get this fixed. We swapped out this line of code:
