Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write context

    Running WordPress 4.6. Updated the plugin to 3.1.1 today. Now, when visiting the plugin’s Settings page:
    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=instant-articles-wizard

    …the following fatal error displays in the frame:

    Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas04_data01/73/2246073/html/wp-content/plugins/fb-instant-articles/wizard/templates/wizard-template.php on line 101

    Running WordPress 4.6. Updated the plugin to 3.1.2 today. Identical issue still exists. Thanks for your help.

    Same issue, even update the PHP version to 5.4 and Plugin version to 3.1.2. But no luck 🙁

    I have the same problem.

    Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/…/webapps/blog/wp-content/plugins/scholarpress-coins/scholarpress-coins.php on line 188

    Could we have an answer or fix, please?

    Hey Grant,

    Updating to 3.1.3 removed this error for me. Looks like there’s another update now too, hopefully this doesn’t break it again!
