• I generally only upload posts to our website, however it went down a few weeks ago and I attempted to resurrect it yesterday. I attempted to recreate the website using the “Optimizer” theme. The theme selection process did not work properly and now I cannot even access the dashboard to undo my selection or otherwise edit my website. I continue to get the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot unset string offsets in \\frigga\home\users\web\b656\ph.d30022293\hollrah-WP\wp-content\themes\optimizer1\lib\redux\framework.php on line 2750

How can I obtain access to the dashboard or otherwise remove this theme?

    Thank you for any help.

  • Hi, you can disable the theme by logging into your site via FTP and going into the wp-content/themes folder, and renaming the theme folder. This will force WordPress to deactivate the theme and fall back to the default theme installed.

If you’re not comfortable using FTP, you can ask your host to rename the folder for you.
