Is that if you go back to 2.5 or if you updated to 2.6.1, just want to make sure we know where to pinpoint.

And again to confirm, was the duplicate happening in 2.6 as well or were you not even able to get to the point where the duplicate would show up.

John, I could see that (on 2.5) it was duplicating the image count – at least in terms of numbers of images listed – but of course it would not show the gallery due to the error message.
Honestly I wish the program would not put any images in the WordPress media library and instead use it’s own like NextGen. 🙂 If you do a lot of galleries, this floods the media library with images that I rarely need to access outside of a gallery. JMO
