I know this issue has been addressed many times because I have read the support files, but the solutions don’t seem to fit my case.

Accessing my web site, http://www.connect-points.com/blacks2006/ , I suddenly rec’d “Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_header()in /public_html/blacks2006/index.php on line 1”

I am NOT trying to access the file directly, and, most importantly, all was working yesterday.

I unzipped the theme (greenflower) again replaced my header and index with the orginal files. Still the same error message.

This web site is supposed to be our “Christmas letter” to friends and family so the timing of the error is really poor! :0

    I am using WP 2.0.5.

    Any advice appreciated.

Thank you and Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

  • What if you change to the default theme? DId you install any plugins recently as well?

I can navigate to your admin page, so WP is working to some degree.

It appears you overwrote the original index.php in your blog’s root directory with the theme’s index.php. Hence the error.

    Themes should be uploaded to:

    /wp-content/themes/theme-name

THANK YOU, for your replies! I was going to switch to the default and test that when i read your entry, Kafkaesqui, and your solution was all I needed.

If you are called Kafkaesqui because of a Kafkaeskian view that says any given choice in code will govern the later course of a person’s blog, you are aptly named!

Somehow, in ftp’ing, i must have transposed my indices. Thank you so very much for taking the time to view them. I am so very relieved to not have to begin again, file after file, line after line, finding the wrong one.

God bless you both! Much appreciated!

And my folks, answer – response, is the reason WP was named the best blogging platform.
