• Hi everyone.

I am trying to access the Network Admin but all I get is this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in /mounted-storage/home128b/sub004/sc64927-LKMG/www/test/wp-admin/network/settings.php on line 48.

    What do do?

All the best and thank you!

P (yes, fairly new at this…)

Internal server errors (error 500) are often caused by plugin or theme function conflicts, so if you have access to your admin panel, try deactivating all plugins. If you don’t have access to your admin panel, try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the default theme for your version of WordPress to rule-out a theme-specific issue. If you don’t have access to your admin panel, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

If that does not resolve the issue, it’s possible that a .htaccess rule could be the source of the problem. To check for this, access your server via FTP or SFTP and rename the .htaccess file. If you can’t find a .htaccess file, make sure that you have set your FTP or SFTP client to view invisible files.

If you weren’t able to resolve the issue by either resetting your plugins and theme or renaming your .htaccess file, we may be able to help, but we’ll need a more detailed error message. Internal server errors are usually described in more detail in the server error log. If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for any errors that occurred during that time period. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.

    Hi Tara,

a big thank you! With your help I managed to get out of the first problem, I renamed the theme and as you said it forced the default theme to activate which allowed me to once again access the network admin.

Now I have installed the theme again but when I press activate or preview I arrive again at a white page with the same text:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in /mounted-storage/home128b/sub004/sc64927-LKMG/www/test/wp-admin/settings.php on line 48

Any tips on what to do next?

Best regards and thank you again!

Dessign illustration responsive theme. It worked fine then something must have happened. Most probably my fault, I would guess…

    – this indicates issue with your theme.

    – Try uploading fresh copy of your theme. Or, try contacting the theme’s developers.

    – If you have customized your theme, make back copy before uploading a fresh copy.

I have already deleted the theme and then started over again. With the result as described above.

“Now I have installed the theme again but when I press activate or preview I arrive again at a white page with the same text: Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in /mounted-storage/home128b/sub004/sc64927-LKMG/www/test/wp-admin/settings.php on line 48”

I don’t think there is anything wrong with the theme itself since it worked before. But Maybe some issue with the settings-php file caused by the problem before?

And once again, thanks for your effort, Tara!

    – Your theme may not be compatible with WP.

    – I recommend asking its developers, so that its developers can be made aware of the issue.

where did you download this theme from (url)?

    Thanks again T.

The theme is compatible for sure. It is from: dessign.net

Is there any way to start over some how? Like a clean install of both wp and theme?

That suggest there is nothing wrong with your WP.

Just change the theme. There are hundreds of good, free themes here: https://wordpress.org/themes/
