Fatal error: Call to undefined function

Hello everyone, I’m not so familiar with wp but I was updating it to 4.7.1 and now i can’t access it anymore and if i try to log in the wp-admin way it says:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function ot_register_meta_box() in /web/htdocs/www.ekoteam.it/home/ekoteam/wp-content/themes/elevate/theme-core/ot-meta-boxes.php on line 950

or if I try to simply go to the website it says:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function ot_get_option() in /web/htdocs/www.ekoteam.it/home/ekoteam/wp-content/themes/elevate/header.php on line 18

What can I do to fix it and not lose the content of the website?

It seems like a problem with your theme.

To get back into your site, delete the theme and WordPress will fall back to twentyseventeen. Or check for an update to your theme (https://themeforest.net/item/elevate-responsive-multipurpose-html-template/3350888) and install the update via FTP.

As you use a commercial theme and need support, please use their official support channel. We feel they are best equipped to support their products.

Thank you for your quick answer, I just emailed them too, but I have another question: if I delete the “elevate” theme because I need to get back online soon, it will completely change the appearance of the website and may mess up things, right?

Yes, it will change the appearance of the site, so maybe the first thing to do is to re-download the theme and check the version. You have 1.2.8 on your site. If they have a newer one, upload it to replace the version you have.

They actually say that it is an HTML template, not a wordpress theme. I’m not sure if it’s the correct “elevate” theme but it’s the only one I could find.

I’m sorry but it’s not that one cause it should be together with the “Genesis Framework” and I don’t have that

When I look at your style.css, I can see the author’s link, but it seems to be dead now.

http://www.ekoteam.it/wp-content/themes/elevate/style.css

Time to get another theme, perhaps.

Sorry but I have one more question: can i switch between themes via ftp? Like without deleting the Elevate theme, but just switching to twentywhatever? Because I contacted the author of ELevate and maybe he can send me a version of it

See this to change themes via the database:

http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/wordpress/change-theme-in-db

or

via FTP, rename “elevate” to “elevate.old” and that should force WP to fall back to a default theme.
