Since the last Yoast SEO update 15.4, my site has seen a steady flow of errors. The only thing that seems to fix it is to deactivate Yoast SEO (which we obviously don’t want to do).

There have been a series of errors, some fatal, but all related to another plugin we are using. As a school we use LearnDash as our built in LMS. LearnDash had a handful of addons that are being effected. Instructor Roles is an addon plugin by WsdmLabs. It allows instructors to log in and manage their course content without going into the backend of WordPress. With Yoast activated, instructors are unable to upload media, access courses, or see their gradebook.

We recently, reverted to an older version of Instructor Roles and turned Yoast SEO back on and it fixed many of the issues, but we are still unable to see the gradebook.

We are currently running WordPress version 5.5.3.

Does anyone have any experience with this and have any suggestions? TIA

  • Hi,

We understand that when Yoast is active instructors are unable to access content on backend. We would like some more information.

    1. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    2. If you check for JavaScript errors do any appear when they try to access the content in the backend? They would appear in red in the console. Can you describe them or take a screenshot? If you are not sure how to look for JavaScript errors please use this guide https://yoast.com/help/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/.

You can use a tool like: https://imgbb.com/ to share the image.

    3. If you go to SEO-General-Features and disable the REST API: Head Endpoint does the issue resolve?

We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
