    Hi
I have the problem during the scanning. I have the Version 6.1.7

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16000289 bytes) in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1263

The wordfence is scanning for hours now …. It has come to this error and won’t finished!

I do have big memory size 3GB.
    Thank you

    Hello zmtgf,
the error message indicates WordPress has 134 MB memory to work with. You can try increasing that to 256 if you like. Instructions for how to do that can be found here.

Two other things you can do is

    1. If set to less than 256, you can you can increase “How much memory should Wordfence request when scanning” setting. It’s under “Other Options” on the Wordfence “Options” page.

    2. You can choose to include fewer things in the scan and see if you can narrow down which option correlates to running out of memory. By doing that you could determine if there is a very large amount of data somewhere that Wordfence is trying to deal with. This setting can be found on Wordfence “Options” page under “Scans to include”.

Thank you. I will try to do that.

    Hi,
    it is set to 256.
So I will try to choose to include fewer things in the scan.
I will let you know the result.
    Tnx

Could you recommend what to exclude form scanning?

Here is the list of what is included now:

    Scan for the HeartBleed vulnerability?
Scan for publically accessible configuration, backup, or log files
Scan core files against repository versions for changes
Scan for signatures of known malicious files
Scan file contents for backdoors, trojans and suspicious code
Scan posts for known dangerous URLs and suspicious content
Scan comments for known dangerous URLs and suspicious content
Scan for out of date plugins, themes and WordPress versions
Scan for admin users created outside of WordPress
    Check the strength of passwords
    Monitor disk space
    Scan for unauthorized DNS changes

    Tnx

    Does this helps?

Wordfence Memory benchmarking utility version 6.1.7.
This utility tests if your WordPress host respects the maximum memory configured
in their php.ini file, or if they are using other methods to limit your access to memory.

    –Starting test–
Current maximum memory configured in php.ini: 128M
    Current memory usage: 38.50M
    Setting max memory to 90M.
Starting memory benchmark. Seeing an error after this line is not unusual. Read the error carefully
to determine how much memory your host allows. We have requested 90 megabytes.
Completing test after benchmarking up to 80.25 megabytes.
    –Test complete.–

Congratulations, your web host allows you to use at least 80.25 megabytes of memory for each PHP process hosting your WordPress site.

    Hello zmtgf,
thanks for the detailed information. You should be ok with that but we are seeing a few issues like the one you are reporting lately so we are trying to investigate. Would you consider sending me a diagnostics report?

Go to Wordfence “Diagnostics” page and at the bottom click the button that says “Send Report by Email”. Change the prefilled address to asa@wordfence.com and please provide your username so I know who the mail is coming from.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,
I just send you Diagnostics. It is scanning, but there is still Fatal error report.
    Thank you

    Hello again zmtgf,
thanks for sending it. It will help when we continue to work on this issue. One thing I noticed is that you have quite a lot of plugins. You might want to try to get a performance analysis on your plugins and see if any of them are using large amounts of resources. On plugin you can use to get such a report is P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler).

    Hello,
    thank you.
I have tried to scan again … the problem is still here.
Regarding plugins, all of them are the ones I need. However, I will try P3 as you suggested.
    Tnx

I have the same probleme, since update:

[May 17 17:42:20] Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 105906176) (tried to allocate 16196737 bytes) in /mnt/webm/d0/58/5671158/htdocs/WordPress_01/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1263

    Hello mt31785,
would you consider sending me a diagnostics report as well? Go to Wordfence “Diagnostics” page and at the bottom click the button that says “Send Report by Email”. Change the prefilled address to asa@wordfence.com and please provide your username so I know who the mail is coming from.

    Hello,
is there any news regarding the problem? I still have it.
    Best regards

    me too..

    Hello zmtgf,
we have a fix coming in the next release. It will not fix all instances of this problem but it should fix most of them. The mysqli plugin is required for the fix to work. You can check whether you have mysqli plugin by clicking on “Click to view your system’s configuration in a new window” at the bottom of Wordfence page “Diagnostics”.

    (@zmtgf)

    Hi,
    thank you for the answer.
I have tried to check whether I have mysqli plugin, but I have this info

Warning: phpinfo() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/sysinfo.php on line 10

Is there any other way to check if I have this or not?
    Best regards,
