I am receiving this error: Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home3/faithepc/public_html/wp-content/plugins/sermon-manager-for-wordpress/includes/podcast-functions.php on line 91

When I login to the file manager on HostGator, it looks like the plugin updated last night at 1:35AM.

I cannot login to my admin panel. I know I can delete the plugin via ftp, but then I lose three years of sermons. Any advice?

I used option #1, here: https://www.ostraining.com/blog/wordpress/disable-a-wordpress-plugin/ if anyone else had this problem with the plugin after it updated.

Hey @amichiganmom,

Thanks for reporting this issue, we will resolve it ASAP.

By the way, it is completely safe to remove the plugin via FTP, no actual sermons will be deleted, because sermons are stored in the database.

While we work on the fix, you can delete the plugin via FTP and upload the previous version: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/sermon-manager-for-wordpress.2.3.4.zip

This has been fixed in 2.4.1.
