[FAQ] Does it work well with large sites?
-
Sometimes people worry that Independent Analytics will cause performance issues if they have a large website. First, we have to define what a “large” site is.
If a site is large in terms of the number of pages, then there is not difference in how well Independent Analytics performs on a small site vs. a large site. It will run just as quickly on a website with 50,000 pages as one with 5 pages.
What matters is the volume of traffic that the site gets. In this case, you will see a difference in load times in the Analytics menu only. Importantly, the tracking script on the front-end will run equally fast for a site with 10 visitors per month vs. a site with 100,000 visitors per month. The only place where you’ll see a performance difference is in the Analytics menu where your stats are loaded. A site with 300 visitors per month will see instantaneous loading whereas a site with 300,000 visitors per month will take a few seconds for the reports to load.
