Yes – it tends to have a much lower failure rate than any automatic install.

And about security? does manual installation offer the chance to set up a more secure configuration or something like that or in security terms they are the same?
Not really. No matter which method you use to install WordPress, hardening it is a separate process. See Hardening WordPress.

esmi, I was reading the “hardening wordpress article”, and have a doubt, suppose I follow that steps will I need to install a security plugin anyway?
Security plugins are not “required” but they can be a good idea – providing you know enough about what settings need to be set up in them. If you’re worried about security I’d suggest looking at a couple, and choosing one. I have used them on some sires, but not on other sites, and I have found that the only issues that I’ve had have been through insecure scripts in 3rd party files in the themes, not by any security holes that the rest of the system has.
