    Hi,

I experienced FancyBox working fairly slow lately. When clicking on one of my photos (http://pierrickstevant.com/) it can take up to 8 sec to open the image.

The images are not that big, maximum 1.5Mo but usually under 1Mo so I don’t think that would be the reason.

I disabled extentions and Jetpack functions one by one to see if something could be crashing but it did not found significant changes. The only thing was that the 2 first pictures are loading normally when disabling the Jetpack function called “shortlink wp.me” otherwise the rest of the photos loads extremely slow.

I have also been noticing that two different loading symbols were showing overlaping when opening a picture. This has never been a problem before but that can be the sign that some elements are in conflict.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Hi Pierrick, I notice no slow loading of images. It might have been a period of high server load or bandwidth issues? In any case, it’s not FancyBox that determines the speed of data transfer…

I did notice that your theme loads another stylesheet http://pierrickstevant.com/wp-content/themes/core/js/fancybox/jquery.fancybox.css?ver=5.1 that is interfering with the one from Eaasy FancyBox. It is visible (for example) when viewing the loading animation (clear browser cache to see) during image load. Also, there is another fancybox script loaded by the theme and although at present it seems to be dormant, it might cause conflicts. On the whole, I’d say Easy FancyBox is incompatible with your theme and would advise disabling the plugin and use the fancybox script that is included in your theme.

    Hi,
Thanks for your advises. I disabled EasyFancy box and it works smoother for me. I think I have a fairly simple theme but I know I’ve been messing a little with FancyBox. I guess it’s the fate of learning by doing.
    I’ll try to fix it.

    Anyway thanks for the help
