False bot and basic filter

    Hi,
    I suggest you check new version of the plugin because these things happen:
    1- The On/Off button in Filter > Profiling> Ignore bots it’s weird because clicking on On it shows off greyed while it works as being deactivated
    2- I got a strange report bloated with bots while never happen before, I had to contact the provider who made tests to discover that such filter was not working correctly. We had to add /robots.txt on the field below while before it wasn’t needed at all since I began using the plugin 3 years ago.
    3- Of these bots there are some false because this is the report from the provider “We suggest that you contact the developer as one of the ips reported as bot 89.46.105.158 is the internal server ip and not a search engine”

    Are you using a language different from English? In the English version, Ignore Bots is “greyed out” when the option is set to “Off”, not viceversa.

    As for #2, make sure the option is enabled.

    As for #3, Slimstat will not use the IP Address to determine if a visitor is a bot or not. Browscap, our third-party data library, will be used to determine that value. You may want to open a ticket at browscap.org to let them know that there’s a false positive in their database.

    1- it happens in any of my sites some multilingual other only english
    I will add a screenshot so you can understand

    3- There’s an alternative to browsecap?

    @wocmultimedia thank you for your feedback about the UX. We’ll keep it in mind, and if other people complain about this specific aspect, we’ll work on an alternative.

    As for not using Browscap: yes, you can uninstall it using the corresponding button in the Maintenance tab. Slimstat will then use its built-in heuristic algorithm to determine if a visitor is a bot or not.

    Hi Jason,

    If you take a common home switcher you click or turn the ON part to activate it. Here you have to click the Off side, that’s really weird and got in trap for this reason.
