Hi @osobuho ,
We noticed that you’ve left a review regarding the bot carts being generated on your site, and we’re really sorry to hear about your experience. We completely understand how concerning it can be to see unexpected cart activity.
However, we would like to clarify that these carts are not generated by the plugin itself. In many cases, such entries are caused by crawlers or bots visiting the site. Some bots directly trigger add-to-cart actions and initiate sessions without actually browsing the website like a real customer. Since WooCommerce tracks these sessions, our plugin captures them as abandoned carts.
This is not an attempt to mislead you or push you toward the Pro version.
To help prevent bot-generated carts from being logged, we recommend the following:
- Please refer to our documentation on tracking only genuine visitor carts:
https://www.tychesoftwares.com/docs/docs/abandoned-cart-for-woocommerce-lite/track-only-genuine-visitor-carts/
This guide explains steps to reduce or stop bots from being captured.
2. You can also temporarily disable the “Start tracking from Cart Page” setting located at WooCommerce → Abandoned Carts → Settings → General Settings.
Disabling this option ensures that carts are only tracked once the visitor enters their name and email address. This helps ensure only genuine abandoned carts are recorded.
Additionally, to better understand what’s happening on your site, could you please share:
>> A few examples of bot carts that you are seeing?
>> Are you using any caching or security/firewall plugins?
This information will help us investigate further and guide you more accurately.
We truly value your feedback and would appreciate the opportunity to help resolve this. Please let us know the requested details, and we’ll be happy to assist further.
