It’s very hard for me to find out why you have this amount of downloads on a file, especially when your log is empty. Was your log enabled from the start? We’ve had some reports of users using download manager which create many connections to the same file, causing Download Monitor to log many false positive download counts.
I also feel the need to respond to your comment about not getting any support at all. You’ve already emailed me twice and I politely asked you to post your question here because it’s regarding the free core plugin and that I will get back to you as soon as I could. I do support for my free plugins once a week at minimum. I understand this might be frustrating but I hope you’ll understand the huge amount of unpaid work it takes to do free support. It’s not about me not wanting to help you sooner, it’s about me also needing to do work I get paid for.

In any case my log was enabled from the start. Probably the problem is the one you point at about using a DM…
