• I installed this plugin to delete images that I’m not using from products listings that I removed, but it would pretend that all my images were in use, when I know that’s a lie. Then it would act as malware, not letting me remove itthe plugin. If you Install this useless plugin there will be no way to remove it. You will have to restore your site to an old version. This people really fooled me.

    Hi,

We’re sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience.

Regarding the scan results: Media Hygiene is intentionally conservative when detecting unused files because incorrectly marking actively used media as unused can cause broken sites. In some cases, images may still be referenced by products, builders, metadata, caches, or other plugins, which can make them appear as “in use.”

Regarding removal: Media Hygiene does not intentionally block uninstallation or act like malware. The plugin can normally be deactivated and removed through standard WordPress procedures. If something prevented removal, we would genuinely like to investigate because this is not expected behavior.

We understand how frustrating this experience must have been, and we’d appreciate the opportunity to look into what happened. If you contact support with details about your setup, products, builders, or plugins being used, we’ll gladly help investigate.

Thank you for sharing your feedback — it helps us improve the plugin for everyone.
