• Backup hangs on multi gig sites! 5 gig site backup.

Worst part of the fail is it leaves multi-gig transient backup files on the server in the wpvividbackups directory that need to be deleted manually with cPanel file manager or FTP!!!

    Hello @ski_k2

Thank you for reporting this. We understand your concern, and we take reports like this very seriously.

In our experience, a backup that gets stuck or times out is typically caused by hosting environment constraints, such as low PHP execution time or memory limits. To resolve this, we recommend adjusting your WPvivid settings as outlined in this guide: How to Fix a Stuck Backup. These adjustments are specifically designed to help bypass server limitations and increase the success rate for larger sites. Please let us know if these adjustments allow your backup to complete successfully.

Regarding the temporary files, we would like to clarify that they are designed to be automatically deleted in the event of a backup failure. We have also double-checked the plugin code and performed tests on our internal sites, confirming that the auto-deletion functionality is working as intended. We suspect this issue may be related to your specific site environment.

To help us identify and resolve this for you, could you please send a debug zip (which you can find under the Debug tab in your WPvivid) to support(at)wpvivid.com? We would be happy to analyze the logs to identify the exact cause.

    Best Regards,
