Failed to generate Critical CSS
-
Hi, I used to use wordpress.com but changed to wordpress.org in these months. I am not really familiar with the website or plugin.
Now I am facing a problem where I can’t create critical CSS, it was still working last week.
I tried to stop the new plugin, but it still doesn’t work. Would you please help to fix this problem? Thank you.

Hi there @jennylin1009,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
Hi, I used to use wordpress.com but changed to wordpress.org in these months. I am not really familiar with the website or plugin.
I see from your records that, even though you have moved your site away from WordPress.com, your nameservers for
readerjenny.comare still pointing to WordPress.com. If you have your site hosted with a different provider now, you will need to point your nameservers away from WordPress.com by following the guide here. Now I am facing a problem where I can’t create critical CSS, it was still working last week.
I tried to stop the new plugin, but it still doesn’t work. Would you please help to fix this problem? Thank you.
Were you able to install and connect the Jetpack Boost plugin on your site
readerjenny.com? I am asking this because your site doesn’t appear to have any Jetpack product installed and connected as can be seen from our audit tool here: https://jptools.wordpress.com/debug/?url=readerjenny.comPlease follow the suggestions shared above and get back to us if you are still having difficulty using the Critical CSS feature from Jetpack Boost on your site.
Best,
Thanks for checking!
For your first question, yes, I’m still using wordpress.com for nameservers (Domain), I didn’t change my nameservers.
About the question: Jetpack Boost plugin, I have asked my hosting support, and after their checking, they informed me to provide this error message to Jetpack Boost.
(I can’t upload images on here, so I used imgbb to upload.)

Here is My hosting supporter message:
During this error, I checked the Apache logs to see if any issues on the server side and there were none. I have attached the browser console error received which needs to be checked by the plugin vendor. Hence, I suggest you contact your plugin vendor as they will need to check the error received and provide further resolution on this. If your developer needs a specific setting to be enabled please let us know to check that setting for you.

Seems my hosting can’t fix this issue now, If you need more information, please let me know. Thank you for your help.

Hey @jennylin1009 – From the screenshot where it shows an error message, it appears WordPress thinks your site lives at HTTP (http://example.com), but that URL redirects to HTTP (https://example.com). Note the difference between “http” and “https”.
Can you please check your “Site Address (URL)” setting under “Settings » General” in your WordPress admin screen? Please make sure that the URL there matches your site’s real address (complete with
https://at the start).Let me know if you still run into trouble with that fix.
Hi @jennylin1009 – could you please once try to disable all plugins (except Boost) on the site and switch your site to default theme like Twenty Twenty Two and then try again to generate the Critical CSS?
Hi, thank you for the comments and advice these days.
Finally, I decided to use another plugin to create a cache.
It seems to work and speeds up the loading time.
So this is no problem now, I think.Thank you for your support.
Hey @jennylin1009 – Thank you for sharing your experience and finding a solution to speed up the loading time on your website. It’s great to hear that you’ve found success with another plugin for creating a cache. However, I wanted to let you know that for generating cache, WP Super Cache is also a highly regarded plugin for caching in WordPress, Jetpack Boost is more for other site optimization features, but WP Super Cache is specifically designed for cache and works well with Boost as well.
WP Super Cache is a popular choice among website owners as it effectively improves loading times by serving static HTML files instead of dynamically generating pages on each visit. This can significantly enhance the overall performance of your website.
If you’re interested, I recommend giving WP Super Cache a try as well. It offers various configuration options and is known for its reliability and ease of use.
Feel free to explore WP Super Cache, and if you have any questions or need further assistance, we are here to help. 🙂
