Facebook videos are now always played using Facebook’s own native player. Because of this, we have removed the Facebook option from Settings → Player → Use Native Controls, as it is no longer applicable.
Regarding the video quality, our plugin does not transcode, compress, or reduce the quality of Facebook videos. The video is embedded directly from Facebook, and the quality is entirely determined by Facebook’s embed player.
If the same video appears in HD on facebook.com but only plays in a lower resolution when embedded on your website, this is unfortunately a limitation of Facebook’s embed service. Facebook may automatically choose a lower streaming quality for embedded videos based on factors such as the embed player, network conditions, device, or browser. The plugin has no control over this behavior and cannot force Facebook to stream the HD version.
If displaying videos in the highest possible quality is important, you may want to consider hosting the videos yourself or using a video hosting platform that provides better control over streaming quality (such as YouTube, Vimeo, or direct MP4/HLS hosting).
