I am getting below error when trying to reauthorize grow for Facebook count. This error is seen after getting redirected to Facebook.

App Not Setup: This app is still in development mode, and you don’t have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions.

Appreciate any help. I have tried from different browsers, incognito browser and religion to Facebook. Nothing is working 🙁

  • Hey @alpajain,

Thanks so much for reaching out to us about this! Just to confirm, are you using ‘Grow Social by Mediavine’ or ‘Facebook Graph API’ as the share count provider in the settings page when trying to reauthorize?

If you’re using the ‘Facebook Graph API’ as the provider, could you try switching things over to ‘Grow Social by Mediavine’ then giving things another try?

    Hi

I am using the Grow Social by Mediavine. I am unable to reauthorize it.

    Hey @alpajain,

Thanks so much for letting us know! I went ahead and did some tests on my end on a brand new WordPress install and it looks like I get the same errors when trying to authorize Facebook for the first time (this doesn’t appear to happen if you’ve authorized previously).

I’ve reached out to our plugin engineers and it looks like we’ll need to reach out to Facebook on our things to correct this. We’ve gone ahead and taken care of that on our end but we don’t have an ETA on when we’ll get a response.

Once we get things back up and running we’ll go ahead and update this thread so others experiencing this issue can know when it’s resolved as well. 🙂

Thankyou so much! Appreciate your help.

Hey @alpajain (and anyone else who might be having this issue),

Would you be able to try reauthorizing again on your side? It looks like we should have the issue resolved on your end but would like to confirm that you’re able to authorize first before calling it officially resolved. 🙂

Yes! I am able to authorize. Thanks a lot for your help.

Awesome, so glad to hear it! If there’s anything else you need please don’t hesitate to start a new thread. 🙂
