    On the Facebook page Commerce > Catalogue > Items under attributes the category shows as a numeric value, for example 166 or 196. Maybe the google product category Id (?)

    For a simple product I can correct this to the product category, as text if I also set the Google product category chain.

    For a Variable product I can set the main product category and the Google product category chain. However, variable products continue to use the numeric category naming.

    Note, by Choosing to reset the Facebook metadata on a product and selecting a different Google product category I can change the numeric category ‘name’.

    Only the product wrapper has the category options not the individual variations.

    Is this a bug or am I missing something in the configuration?

    I suspect it’s the same issue as described in this bug: https://github.com/woocommerce/facebook-for-woocommerce/issues/1775

    If it does indeed sound familiar, please go ahead and add your own comment to the thread if you can. This will give the developers a good idea of the size and impacts of the issue.

    Thanks for the link.

    I trialed the two amendments but as expected re category field the main product category settings were not copied across to Facebook. The numeric value for the Google category selection is used.
