The only image I see with an extra images if one of the last row. Check that the reason is that the image is smaller than the placeholder. Check the screenshot: https://snag.gy/0EXof2.jpg
Maybe if you try with a bigger version of it, it will fit.

Actually, that image is of the same size as the others, just the bottom part of it is white

And @motherofchaos3, the empty space in an individual blog post after the featured images comes from WP QUADS Content Ad Plugin v. 1.7.6. It looks like that the AdSense ad should be showing up in-between the picture and the title, but it doesn’t.
