External Image urls are changed from http to https.

I have a plugin which look up product images on amazon, the correct url to the image is
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41Qq80MsmKL._SL75_.jpgBut when the admin page is rendered, this is changed from http to https when the plugin is active.
Unfortunatly this causes the images not to be rendered.
What to do?
